weather expressions

Hi Dirk!

Could you please explain the expression?

There is a snow passage?

དགུན་ཁ་ passage?

What the expression བྱས་ཅིང means?

Could you explain ཀྱིད་ཤོས་ and ཀྱོད་ཤོས་ please?

I would like to say “I like Fall season colors”
Is it possible to say : ང་སྟོན་ཀ་གི་ཁ་དོག་དགའ་པོ་ཡོད།

Also I would like to check with you if it is correct to say :
སྟོན་ཀ་ལ་གནམ་གཤིས་ཡག་པོ་ཡོད་རེད།
(fall’s weather is nice)

And the last one :

ཞིམ་པོ་ - delicious , is it also spicy? I think one of the teachers tried to say that to me…but I am unsure…

Thank you

ཤུགས་ཆེན་པོ་ = strong / hard / powerful
འབབ་ = fall / land
ཆར་པ་ འབབ་ = to rain (v)
གངས་ འབབ་ = to snow (v)
དགུན་ཁ་ = winter
སྐྱིད་ཤོས་ = the most སྐྱིད་པོ་, like ཡག་ཤོས་ = the most ཡག་པོ་ (the best)

Sounds good to me!

ཞིམ་པོ་ isn’t spicy, ཁ་ཚ་པོ་ is. But some people like spicy food and find it tasty… :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you Dirk, good morning!

So when they said "སྐྱིད་པོ་ཡོད་མ་རེད་། they are saying something like “this is not the best” (I am double checking because ཡག་པོ་ is the best, but in this case…)

When they said སྐྱིད་ཤོས་རེད། are they saying is it the most? :grimacing:
(I am sending the image)

What is སྐྱོད་ཤོས་རེད། (I am sending the screen shot too)

Also I would like to check with you if it is correct to say
ང་སྟོན་ཀ་འི་ཁ་དོག་དགའ་པོ་ཡོད།
“I like Fall season colors”

Yes. Maybe more like “happiest” or “nicest” (སྐྱིད་ཤོས་), but how to translate it would depend on the context I think… Here almost like “most beautiful”… Like, the flowers are blooming, and it’s just the sweetest and the most pleasant place!

Yes, it’s good! I understand what it means, but I am culturally western. Try it with a native speaker and see what they say

It’s a bit cut off, but I think the second one about fall says “སྐྱོ་ཤོས་”, saddest
